Strands is comprised of both park and beach. Atop the cliffs is the parking lot, scenic trail, grassy areas and unbelievable views. It is the perfect spot for a sunset view or scenic walk.
Down the stairs, and I do mean all the way down the stairs, you will be met with a spectacular beach with pristine sand and looming cliffs. The beach does offer a funicular, but, don’t rely on it, it is very busy, very slow, and often under repair.
The beach at Strands is a community beach where OC Junior Guards is in full force all summer, teaching young boys and girls water conservation, water safety and beach exercise.
Strands is perfect for surfing, swimming and running. It has both a boardwalk and a walking trail that leads to the nearby Salt Creek Beach, where friends and neighbors meet for runs and exercise.
