Things to Do in Julian: Apple Picking and Pie Tasting

Things to do in JulianPerhaps the most famous attraction in Julian is its apple orchards and apple pies. Visiting Julian in the fall, during apple-picking season, is a quintessential California experience. Many of the town’s orchards allow visitors to pick their own apples, making it one of the most popular things to do in Julian.

Once you’ve gathered your apples, you’ll want to sample the famous pies at Julian Cafe and Bakery,  Julian Pie Company or Mom’s Pies, two iconic bakeries in town. Both spots serve up warm, flaky apple pies that are a must-try during your visit. For an extra indulgent treat, be sure to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Additionally, the Julian Pioneer Museum is another excellent stop for history enthusiasts.
